Dr. Nausheen Dawood is the Principal of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women (Autonomous) which is a Muslim Minority College for Women.  Approximately 6200 students,  300 teaching faculty and 100 non-teaching staff work here.  She is the Chairperson of the Organising Committee of this National Conference on Next Generation Library Services. She started her career in the J.B.A.S. College as Lecturer in the Post Graduate and Research Department of Zoology.  Then, she was designated as Reader & Head of the Department of Zoology. She has also been the Co-ordinator of the IQAC and the Vice-Principal of the College.  She took charge as Principal in 2009.  

She is a member of various professional societies such as the Indian Association of Biomedical Science, Chennai; The Indian Academy of Neurosciences, Aligarh; The Ethological Society of India, Bangalore; The Indian Immunology Society of India and The Society of Toxicology, New Delhi, India.She is a member of the Editorial Advisory Boards of the International Journal entitled “Ecology, Environment and Conservation” and the International Journal entitled “Nature Environment and Pollution Technology”.She has completed a Minor project sponsored by the UGC on “Biodiversity and Bio-monitoring for the Assessment and Control of Pollution in Red Hills Lake, Chennai”.

Awards:  She was awarded the “Young Scientist Award” by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and was appointed as the  Scientific Pool Officer by the CSIR.
